History of the Institution:

Smt. G. J. Sheth Commerce College, Morbi is managed by Shree Sarvodaya Education Society Trust MORBI- Mumbai.

The society came in to existence in 1959, and started a new dimension of higher education in the rural area, for the benefit of community and develop vision and mission for the people, the persons who are unable to bear higher educational expenses, may take the benefit of such institutions and overall progress of the assets of the Nation and younger generation.

With a view to inspiration and a precious love for home town in 1962 a large amount of Rs. 1, 25,000 donated by Smt. Gulabben Jamanadash Sheth to establish Commerce College in Morbi. At that time as per index and as per inflation rate the amount was huge and the decision for Commerce College in rural area was remarkable for the donor as well as for the people of Morbi.

A separate “ GUJARAT’ state came in to existence on 1^st May 1961, and in 1962 there was only seven commerce college were in Saurashtra region under Saurastra University, and Smt. G. J. Sheth Commerce College, at that time was a leading college, no doubt college is making progress, day by day as time change, trend change, new necessity arise, but the college have academic atmosphere, as a whole.
